short holiday in Venice fortunatly i had the oportunity to spend my holidays remained from last year, so we visited the town of venice, a place i was curious about, all my life. it was great journey with my girlfriend. the sinking city has a deep romantic atmosphere, with it's narrow streets, the canals and bridges. the time is almost frozen. just the couple tourists remind that you did not pass in time a few hundred years. the overview of the city is amazing. i managed to make a picture about a big wallpaper /taken from the air/. the whole place was built on the sea, mostly on artificial islands. it's linked through a few hundered meter bridge to Mestre, the closest city on the coast.for someone like me, who grew up in a city without a harbour and sea-shore, it's always an aces feeling to visit a port-town. and more than that, it is special because it has no even roads for cars. the whole traffic is transact by ships. we were in Venice in early spring, so the number of tourists was not that big as it is in summertime, and the weather was agreeable. for those who would like to visit venice, i recomend this period of the year, so there are no heat-waves and it's not so crowded as it is in the summer.
