Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, city and port, Spain, in the Canary Islands, on the northeastern
coast of Tenerife (largest of the Canaries), capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Province.
It is a major fueling port for shipping; principal exports are fruits and vegetables grown
on the island. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the city is a center of a resort area,
and tourism is a major industry. Santa Cruz de Tenerife was founded in 1494.
